I've figured out the difference between internet dating and real life dating

Having stipulated "friends" and not looking for a relationship... I thought I would be safe from finding the "one", especially since I was not looking & came in here just for my nightly social chats....well...guess what?... it happens!.. No matter how hard I tried to ignore the feelings, realisation of distance & sleepless nights from trying to drag myself away from my computer, engulfed with the presence of my perfect man, it was impossible.

Only advice that I can be give is that although you may fight the feelings, I think you can learn more from someone through typing out your true self, not a persona of who you want others to think you are... and there may be someone out there that will totally understand you to the point of being that missing jigsaw piece to make you whole.

We both had nearly given up hope at finding love and then it happened. We met in February and were engaged 6 weeks later and we had the happiest day of our lives on our wedding day 17 November this year.

Everyone doubted how quick it was (and because of the persona around the internet dating thing) but when you know you know, we are very happy and haven't looked back! And now we tell everyone to get online and try Aussie!!!

I stumbled into the chat room and was immediately taken by her charm and wit. Her profile read like the woman i had always hoped i would meet. We chatted and soon we became besotted with each other. It was like only 4 weeks and we were talking marriage, children, everything.

I have been on this site for almost 12 months now. I moved to victoria from Cairns QLD once i met my mr right. i sent him a message and he replyed and it went on from there. He stole my heart the minute he replyed. It was difficult at first because of our age gap (12 yrs) but we soon realised that age didn't matter because we were in love i am now here in vic and have been for over 4 months now and we are engaged and trying for a baby. things couldn't be better.. Hey just wanted everyone out there that gets frustrated with people on this site that play games etc. Dont give up as I nearly did and Im glad I didnt as I wouldnt of met Mark. Early days yet but I think Iv met someone really special. Now the only time Im on the computer is if Im actually home and talking to him. There are good people out there it just takes a while to find them and weed out the idiots. So Aussie Match Maker thankyou. I found my man finally. I met a lovely lady who I never even knew was using this site. My daughter actually introduced us!
At that time I was thinking about another women who lived closer to where I was- but she was just after sympathy and wasn't exactly honest in her profile about her looks, height and weight, I don't like being lied to so I started to pursue the other lady and I am glad I did. She has certainly made me a very happy man and I am relocating soon to be with her and her 10 year old daughter, we share so much in common and I never thought after a nasty divorce I would be able to move on again and find happiness.

So for those of you who are waiting, don't give up, the right person is out there! Just be honest in your profile and about yourself- lying doesn't get you anywhere.

My profile was on the site for about 24 hours when David wrote to me. He was in Melbourne and I was living in New York getting ready to move home within 6 months. I had a pretty amazing response from my profile so hid it pretty quickly and started talking to about 6 guys I had swapped details with. David was the shining star for me when we started talking via IM, and then phone.

We became friends for a couple of months until I got home for Christmas. I was scared to meet because I didn't want to lose the great friendship. Well we did meet on December 19th and the chemistry was awesome! We had found perfection in a relationship...trust, respect, chemistry, passion and we still have the great friendship! So here I sit...with my heart and mind elsewhere and I can't imagine a better place for them to be. For they are with an amazing guy, who I can imagine being with til we are both old and gassy and having regular doses of prune juice. We have technically been 'together' for 7 months and these past months have taught me how amazing and caring and considerate and loving a man can be to his partner.
